NOMINATE ‘UNSUNG HEROES’ OF YOUR COMMUNITY
Time is running out to nominate a voluntary group for The Queen's Golden Jubilee Award for voluntary service.
The Queen's Golden Jubilee Award recognises the achievement
of groups who volunteer their own time to improve the quality of
life and opportunities for others in their community.
This year’s 200 winners reflect the amazing diversity of
the voluntary sector, from those that run community centres, village
halls, youth and sports clubs to those who contribute to crime prevention
and community safety.
Home Office Minister Fiona Mactaggart said:
“This annual award gives well-deserved recognition to some
of the unsung heroes of our communities – groups who reach
out and touch the lives of others.
“I urge you to nominate groups who volunteer their time and
energy to help their communities so that they can be considered
for the 2004 awards. It is an important opportunity to recognise
the huge contribution of voluntary groups and to thank them for
their efforts.”
Nominations must be in by 15 September. Forms can be obtained at
www.goldenjubileeaward.gov.uk/nominate.html or by calling 0845 000
2002.
